Digital Senior Care Curriculum and Content Development South Korea is experiencing an accelerating aging population, with the number of people aged 65 and older surpassing 8 million. Of these, dementia patients, requiring increased care, account for 10.16% (according to the "2019 Dementia Status in Korea" report from the National Dementia Center). Furthermore, with the baby boomer generation (born between 1955 and 1963) expected to reach 7 million in the coming years, interest in the senior industry is growing.

LG Uplus, LG Electronics, and Hancom With announced on the 14th that they have agreed to launch a joint project related to digital senior care. Hancom With has been operating "Hancom Malrang Malrang Happy Care," a senior daycare center (day care center), since July. The center targets approximately 650,000 people, out of a population of approximately 7.4 million seniors, who fall into cognitive support levels 3 to 5 (based on the long-term care insurance payment criteria). The center plans to expand to approximately 3,000 locations within five years.
Hancom Malrang Malrang Happy Care Center provides a cognitive training dementia prevention virtual reality (VR) program developed in collaboration with specialists and an artificial intelligence (AI) robot program that enables interactive interaction. Additionally, we plan to provide smart healthcare services utilizing advanced ICT capabilities, such as wearable-based vital check and location confirmation functions.
To this end, LG U+ plans to provide Hancom Malrang Malrang Happy Care Center with communication infrastructure products such as internet, IPTV, and CCTV, as well as various IoT devices and services. Going forward, the center plans to jointly develop curriculum programs and digital senior care content, including AR/VR, and to launch a healthcare service business based on customer lifelog data.
LG Electronics plans to supply home appliances, IT devices, and system air conditioners to the Hancom Malrang Malrang Happy Care Center and promote collaboration on various solutions.
