The Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show (SIMTOS 2022), held for the first time in four years due to COVID-19, will showcase a variety of exhibits reflecting smart manufacturing trends and provide a platform for expanding networks among manufacturing companies, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of domestic and international manufacturing technology.
The Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show (SIMTOS 2022), Korea's largest exhibition, hosted by the Korea Machine Tool Industry Association (Chairman Kwon Young-doo), will be held from Monday, May 23 to Friday, May 27.
SIMTOS 2022 is being held as Korea's largest face-to-face exhibition since the COVID-19 outbreak, with 854 companies from 29 countries participating in 4,825 booths at KINTEX Halls 1 and 2. Over 8,000 products and technologies are displayed in seven specialized halls.
KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 houses the following exhibition halls: △Metal Cutting and Mold Technology Hall, △Material Components and Control Technology Hall, △Robot and Digital Manufacturing Hall, △Tooling and Measurement Technology Hall, and △Additive Manufacturing Technology Hall, all with the themes of ‘Cutting’ and ‘Digital Manufacturing.’
In particular, SIMTOS 2022 provides an opportunity to explore robot-based automation and digital manufacturing systems, as well as additive manufacturing technologies, for the demand and supply industries, in line with the digital transformation trend toward smart factories.
Hwacheon Machinery Co., Ltd., located in Exhibition Hall 1, showcased smart machines, various machine tools, and processing control software based on its processing expertise. DN Solutions (formerly Doosan Machine Tools) held a ceremony to announce its new mission at the event and showcased its latest integrated manufacturing technology solutions.
Hyundai Wia Co., Ltd. unveiled its "Integrated Smart Manufacturing and Logistics Solution" based on robotics and autonomous driving. It unveiled its smart manufacturing and logistics robots, including collaborative robots and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), for the first time.
This is expected to contribute to manufacturing innovation and building a foundation for digital transformation in the machinery and metalworking industries.
Exhibition Hall 2 includes the 'Cutting and Welding Technology Hall' and the 'Press and Forming Technology Hall' where you can see metal forming and welding technologies.
At this event, Korea Trump Co., Ltd. unveiled its differentiated portfolio, including new laser processing technology, automated equipment, pipe processing machines, and welding cells, as well as newly launched smart factory solutions.
By implementing Material Buffer, a hardware solution for smart factories, in the exhibition hall, we presented a method for operating a plate storage facility for unmanned automation. In addition, he directly explained Oseon, a software solution that streamlines production processes and improves productivity, through exhibition and presentation.
This event will also feature 22 expert conferences spanning six topics over three days. Industry professionals are expected to gain insights into manufacturing innovation through these conferences.
In his opening remarks, Kwon Young-doo, Chairman of the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers Association, said, “Starting today, the KINTEX exhibition hall will become a competition venue for smarter and more intelligent new technologies and new products that will proactively respond to changes in the production and manufacturing technology environment.” He added, “I sincerely hope that the new products that we have been developing with great effort will shine through this exhibition, garnering much attention from consumers and creating new markets.” Chairman Kwon added, “I hope this exhibition will be a satisfying experience for everyone, where consumers can find the optimal equipment to further upgrade their production lines and achieve sustainable growth.”
