Thanks to government-level efforts, the domestic smart factory market is sailing smoothly. After 2022, which showed various possibilities, it is expected to continue to grow in 2023 based on more advanced technologies.

In the midst of this, the Industrial Education Research Institute is preparing a place to share the future prospects of smart factories, including the new digital twin and metafactory technologies that are being attempted recently.

The Industrial Education Research Institute will hold the '2023 Smart Factory and Digital Twin/Metafactory New Technology Present and Future Outlook Seminar' online and offline simultaneously on January 19th. The seminar starts at 9:50 a.m. and runs until 5:10 p.m.

The seminar topics are: △Digital manufacturing innovation and the future of smart factories △Smart factory core technologies and testing and certification △Smart factory implementation elements technologies and application cases △Current status and strengthening trends of domestic smart factory security policies △Current status and future outlook of digital twin factory technology (smart factory system + digital twin technology) △Current status and future response of manufacturing digital twin technology △Current status and future of meta factories △Future meta factories to be implemented as metaverse, etc.

An official from the Industrial Education Research Institute said, “Through this seminar, we hope to shed light on the understanding and future of smart factories, as well as analyze the main foundations and element technologies of smart factories so that more companies can present a paradigm shift in manufacturing and secure manufacturing competitiveness.” He added, “In particular, we would like to have time to solve the concerns that companies are facing in next-generation factories, such as digital twin-based metafactories.”

The seminar will be held in the KIEI seminar room (within the Digital Complex in Guro-dong, Seoul), and pre-registration is available at the Industrial Education Research Institute ( https://www.kiei.com/ ).
