Siemens Digital Industries has introduced AI agents to the factory automation industry, demonstrating a new automation paradigm that autonomously performs entire industrial processes.

Siemens Digital Industries Korea announced that it had officially unveiled an industrial AI agent that is linked with Siemens' existing Industrial Copilot ecosystem, while announcing the expansion of its industrial AI portfolio at 'Automate 2025' held in Detroit, USA from May 12 to 15.

Siemens' AI agent goes beyond a simple AI assistant to an autonomous technology that can judge and execute industrial processes without user intervention, learns the intentions of workers, and connects with various AI and industrial tools. It also promises up to 50% productivity gains and provides interoperability with third-party AI agents.

Siemens will develop physical AI agents as well as existing software-based AI to provide actually operable industrial automation solutions such as mobile robots.

Siemens plans to build a dedicated hub for industrial AI agents within the Xcelerator Marketplace.

This will allow customers to choose AI agents not only from Siemens but also from other companies, maximizing the expansion and usability of industrial automation technology.

Siemens is optimizing the value chain across factory automation by combining industrial AI agents and Industrial Copilot.

Design Copilot accelerates product design and enhances creativity based on NX CAD, while Planning Copilot automates production planning, resource allocation, and schedule optimization.

Engineering Copilot supports automated engineering performance and SCL code generation, while Operations Copilot analyzes plant operation data in real time and supports problem resolution.

Services Copilot is an AI-based equipment diagnostic solution for maintenance teams.

This AI copilot system uses generative AI technology to enable faster and more efficient industrial management.
