Launch of EtherNet/IP in-cabinet solution to optimize smart manufacturing operations

Rockwell Automation, Inc. is helping manufacturers realize faster, more efficient automation systems with a new EtherNet/IP in-cabinet solution that speeds installation by reducing wiring time by up to 80 percent.

Rockwell recently launched an EtherNet/IP in-cabinet solution to support smart and efficient panel construction.

The solution aims to simplify real-time data communication between equipment within control panels, reducing installation time, improving operational efficiency and optimizing space.

Traditional physical wiring methods have hindered digital transformation by limiting data accessibility and making system upgrades difficult.

In contrast, EtherNet/IP in-cabinet solutions are designed to make the transition to smart manufacturing easier and faster.

Key features include improved installation speed by reducing wiring time by up to 80% and support for real-time data communication to create a smart manufacturing environment.

In addition, the internal design of the panel has been simplified to optimize space, and flexible expandability has been secured through the plug-and-play (PnP) method.

Brazilian electrical and automation control company Volga reduced assembly times by more than 65% after implementing an EtherNet/IP in-cabinet solution. Operational quality has been improved with panel operator color customization and reduced SKU count.

“It is an innovative solution that provides high efficiency and reliability for both panel manufacturers and end users,” said Carlos Leopoldo, Volga’s commercial director.

“EtherNet/IP in-cabinet represents a revolution in industrial connectivity,” said Kelly Passineau, product manager for Rockwell Automation. “Single-pair EtherNet/IP technology can reduce installation time and maximize operational efficiency.”
