About 60 employees participate in ecosystem protection activities at Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park
Siemens Korea (CEO and President Ha-joong Jeong) has taken the lead in protecting the ecological environment and has contributed to creating a healthy ecological environment for future generations.
On the 22nd, Siemens Korea held an ESG campaign at the Saetgang Ecological Park in Yeouido, Seoul.
This activity was organized as part of efforts to protect the habitats of native species and preserve biodiversity.
Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park is an eco-friendly space where various creatures live, but the spread of invasive plants is becoming a problem.
These plants are not only vigorous in reproduction, but some are also toxic or pose an allergy risk, requiring constant care.
Accordingly, about 60 Siemens Korea executives and employees, including President Jeong Ha-joong, carried out environmental protection activities centered on the ecological waterway and willow forest extending from Yeoui Bridge to Seoul Bridge.
We focused on improving the growing environment for native plants in the park by removing representative invasive plants such as ragweed, maple-leafed ragweed, western sedge, thornbush, and Japanese quince.
Jeong Ha-jung, CEO of Siemens Korea, said, “It was a meaningful time to be able to protect wetlands and forests in the city together with employees and help create a healthy ecological environment for future generations.” He added, “Siemens has sustainable development as its corporate philosophy and will continue to engage in various social contribution activities in the future.”He said, “We plan to continue our volunteer activities.”
Meanwhile, Siemens Korea has been promoting various activities as part of ESG management.
In 2024, the 'Forest Ecology Restoration ESG Campaign' was carried out at the National Chuncheon Forest Center in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, and emergency relief fund raising activities were carried out to recover from the earthquakes in Turkmenistan and Nepal and the forest fires in Gangwon-do and Gyeongbuk.
In addition, we are making continuous efforts for the development of local communities through employee participation in activities such as sharing daily necessities, environmental cleanup, and food distribution services.
