Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (Hexagon), a leading global sensor, software, and automation solutions company, has joined hands with Gachon University to foster 3D-based digital engineering experts.

On the 22nd, Hexagon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gachon University for industry-academic cooperation to foster 3D-based design and analysis experts.

This business agreement aims to jointly develop a practical training course and join forces to foster talent in response to the increasing demand for digital engineering technology.

The signing ceremony was held at Gachon Hall, Gachon University, and was attended by Dean Dae-ho Lee of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gachon University, Director Heung-seop Hong of Hexagon Design & Engineering Division, and other relevant officials who discussed specific directions for cooperation.

Hexagon will provide its simulation integration platform, MSCOne, for education and plans to create a hands-on program that reflects the needs of various industrial fields, including thermal fluid flow analysis (Cradle CFD), noise analysis (Actran), structural analysis (MSC Nastran), dynamic simulation (Adams), manufacturing process analysis (Simufact), and composite material analysis (Digimat).

Through this agreement, students will have first-hand experience with analysis and simulation technologies used in actual industrial settings. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your practical skills.

In particular, it is expected to include training in technologies essential to the future manufacturing industry, such as AI-based simulation, composite design, and material analysis.

Gachon University Dean Lee Dae-ho said, “We expect that through Hexagon’s global-level digital solutions, students will be able to acquire practical capabilities suited to the future industrial environment.”

Hexagon D&E Division Head Hong Heung-seop also said, “This agreement is an important first step toward fostering next-generation manufacturing technology talent,” and added, “We will continue to support the activation of practical education.”
