Adding AI Capabilities to Simcenter Testlab
Simplified test preparation and hardware integration
Siemens Digital Industries Software is revolutionizing engineering test workflows by speeding physical testing by seven times with AI-based modal analysis.
Siemens announced on the 16th the latest update to Simcenter™ Testlab™, its physical testing and analysis solution.
This update introduces a host of AI-powered features that dramatically simplify and speed up key testing processes, including modal testing, transfer path analysis (TPA), and component model extraction.
Simcenter Testlab's new AI-enabled modal analysis capabilities automate complex mode selection and validation, reducing reliance on manual tasks and accelerating the entire modal testing workflow by up to 700%.
Intelligent sensor placement and automatic hit selection also simplify the impact data collection process, making it more efficient and enabling standalone operation.
Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) reduces end-to-end analysis time by up to 40% through automated data preparation and processing capabilities. Even less skilled users can easily perform sophisticated NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) predictions.
Additionally, Simcenter Testlab Automated Component Model Extractor automatically collects blocked forces and impedance frequency response functions (FRFs) through ISO 20270-compliant component model extraction, reducing component characterization time from weeks to hours.
Simcenter Testlab Schedule Designer automates data processing and validation based on predefined sequences, ensuring complete data traceability and eliminating the risk of incomplete or inconsistent test data.
Additionally, test plans defined in Schedule Designer are seamlessly transferred to the Recorder App in the Simcenter™ SCADAS RS data acquisition system, enabling clear instructions and immediate data validation on a wireless tablet.
Simcenter SCADAS RS can be combined with existing Recorder, Mobile, and Lab systems to support channel expansion and function upgrades, and in keeping with Siemens' open philosophy, data can also be exported to universal or third-party formats.
“Siemens is actively leveraging AI across the engineering lifecycle to streamline processes and accelerate product launches,” said Jean-Claude Ercolanelli, senior vice president of Siemens Simulation and Test Solutions. “This update represents a significant shift in how physical testing is conducted.”
