Strengthening Cybersecurity Response for OT Security Diagnosis, Managed Services, and Remote Access
Rockwell Automation has expanded its OT security portfolio by adding three new solutions to its SecureOT family of industrial cybersecurity solutions. This product family aims to enhance cyber resilience in industrial environments by integrating asset visibility, vulnerability response, and secure remote access into a single operating system.

On the 10th, Rockwell Automation added the OT Cybersecurity Assessment Suite, SecureOT Platform Managed Services, and Managed Secure Remote Access Services (MSRA) to its SecureOT product family. These solutions are primarily targeted at manufacturers and enterprises operating critical infrastructure.

The OT Cybersecurity Assessment Suite is an assessment solution that diagnoses the security status of industrial sites and identifies areas for improvement. It is designed to identify asset status, risk factors, and directions for security improvement based on data collection capabilities and analysis frameworks specialized for operational technology environments. Rockwell has focused on streamlining the assessment process and enhancing the consistency of results by utilizing AI and machine learning models.

The SecureOT Platform managed service combines Rockwell’s risk and vulnerability management solutions with professional operations services. Its purpose is to reduce the operational burden on security teams by continuously providing asset identification, risk prioritization, platform updates, and inventory management. This model is suitable for manufacturers looking to accelerate vulnerability response while minimizing on-site operational downtime.

The managed secure remote access service is designed to securely connect OT assets in an identity-based environment. It is provided in a vendor-independent manner and enables support for external partners, remote maintenance, and access control management through a cloud-based remote access layer. This product reflects the growing demand for remote support in operational facilities.

In the industrial sector, the importance of OT security is increasing due to the digitalization of production facilities and the expansion of connectivity. Existing control systems are often operated for long periods, and because equipment and networks from various vendors are intermingled, it is difficult to respond using only IT security methods. Consequently, an integrated security framework combining asset visibility, vulnerability prioritization, and remote access control is emerging as a key challenge for manufacturing sites.

Maria Els, Senior Global Product Manager for Rockwell Automation’s Cybersecurity Projects, explained that manufacturers are in a situation where they must strengthen security while maintaining production, and that SecureOT helps protect core assets and ensure safe plant operations by combining diagnostics, action plans, and managed services.

The SecureOT product family is built upon product security capabilities based on the industrial security standard IEC 62443 and Rockwell's industrial cybersecurity services. Rockwell plans to expand the product family by combining assessment, managed services, and secure remote access capabilities to enable manufacturers to continuously manage OT risks and enhance disaster responsiveness.
