Introduction to Digital Monitoring Solutions
Testo Korea unveiled a TPM (Total Polarity Management)-based edible oil quality measuring device and a food safety management solution to meet the demand for quality control in food manufacturing and distribution sites.
Testo Korea announced on the 11th that it participated in 'SEOUL FOOD 2026,' held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province from June 9 to 12, and showcased edible oil quality measurement equipment and food safety management product lines. Seoul Food & Food is Korea's leading specialized exhibition for the food industry, featuring companies from the food manufacturing, distribution, restaurant, and food tech sectors.
The main product of this exhibition is the 'testo 270 BT'. TPM is utilized as one of the indicators to determine the degree of degradation of repeatedly used cooking oil. The device is designed to insert a sensor into heated cooking oil to check measurement values within seconds, and to display the results in color, allowing for on-site determination of whether to replace the oil. In addition, measurement data can be transmitted to mobile devices or management systems via Bluetooth communication, making it suitable for quality control in food service businesses operating multiple stores or food processing sites.
While acid value is widely used as a quality control standard for edible oils in Korea, some countries overseas apply TPM values as their management standard. Consequently, management methods utilizing TPM measurement equipment are becoming increasingly widespread in the global food industry.
Along with this, Testo Korea also exhibited the integrated food safety management solution 'testo Saveris Food', data loggers 'testo 164', 'testo 191', and 'testo 174', and the food penetration pH meter 'testo 205'. These products are used to collect and record data necessary for quality control, such as temperature, humidity, and pH, during the food manufacturing and distribution processes.
Hong Seong-su, Business Unit Manager at Testo Korea, said, “Interest in data-driven quality management is growing in the food industry,” adding, “We focused on introducing various measurement solutions that can be utilized in the field.”
Meanwhile, Testo Korea is the Korean branch of Testo SE & Co. KGaA, a German specialist in measuring instruments. Testo supplies temperature, humidity, pressure, and quality measurement equipment and monitoring solutions in the food, pharmaceutical, industrial process, and environmental sectors, and provides technical support and after-sales service in Korea.
