The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) has joined hands with the Korea Robot Industry Association (KIRIA) and Doosan Robotics to enter the European market for advanced robots.

KETI announced on the 22nd that it signed an MOU with KIRIA and Doosan Robotics on the 20th (local time) at Doosan Robotics Europe branch in Frankfurt, Germany.

This agreement utilizes the 'Korea-Czech Advanced Robot Industry Cooperation Center' to be established within Prague Technical University in the Czech Republic as a basis for cooperation, and was pursued with the goal of expanding support for domestic robot and manufacturing companies' entry into Europe and conducting international joint research in the field of advanced robots.

The Cooperation Center, a joint R&D hub designed to support local demonstration and commercialization of domestic robot companies in Europe and to foster SI specialists, is scheduled to be established within the year under the leadership of KIRIA.

Under the agreement, the three institutions will cooperate in expanding the entry of domestic robot companies into the European market, establishing and jointly utilizing local cooperation networks based on the cooperation center, operating robot specialist training and education programs, conducting joint seminars, exhibitions, and technology exchanges, and promoting international joint projects.

KETI takes a leading role in identifying joint R&D projects and supporting technology demonstration and commercialization.

KIRIA is It is responsible for establishing a policy foundation for domestic companies to enter the European market, while Doosan Robotics utilizes its European branch as a local cooperation base to support technology demonstration and the expansion of local networks.

KIRIA President Cho Young-hoon stated, “This is highly significant in that a leading domestic robotics company and a specialized research institute have jointly established a foundation for entering the global market,” adding, “We will pursue the commercialization of joint R&D projects centered on our local cooperation base in Europe.”
