The Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS) held an annual event at its headquarters in Changwon to strengthen industry-academia collaboration with partner companies in the materials and components sector. The event served as an opportunity to review the achievements of technological cooperation with participants in the corporate support program 'KIMS Family Enterprises' and to explore future directions for collaboration.
The Korea Institute of Materials Science announced on the 30th that it held the '2026 KIMS Family Enterprise Partnership Day' at its headquarters in Changwon, Gyeongnam on the 24th. Representatives from 34 family companies and researchers attended the event to share best practices in cooperation and discuss directions for technological cooperation.
The KIMS Family Company is a corporate support program operated by the Korea Institute of Materials Science to help partner companies resolve technical issues.
It is operated with the aim of establishing a continuous technology cooperation channel between small and medium-sized enterprises in materials and components and researchers to promote research linkages tailored to on-site needs.
At this event, excellent examples of technology collaboration by participating companies were presented, and discussions on future cooperation directions also took place.
Park Yi-ho, Director of the Industrial Technology Solution Center at the Korea Institute of Materials Science, stated that he would continue to strive to expand support for materials and components companies and strengthen practical industry-academia cooperation.
