Industry-leading noise reduction and highest ENOB achieved through proprietary ASIC
Customers include high-energy physics research teams, semiconductor companies, and RF systems.
Tektronix, a global leader in test and measurement equipment, has set a new standard for high-performance instrumentation with a new oscilloscope based on its proprietary ASIC, delivering the industry's lowest noise, highest ENOB, and up to 10x faster data transfer.
Tektronix announced on the 18th that it has officially launched the 7 Series DPO, which sets a new standard for next-generation oscilloscopes.
This new product is designed based on a scalable architecture that delivers the industry's lowest noise and highest effective number of bits (ENOB) and supports bandwidths up to 25 GHz.
The 7 Series DPO features a signal processing architecture that combines a high-performance GPU and an optimized FPGA, centered around two custom ASICs (Tek079 and Tek085) developed in-house by Tektronix.
This achieves ENOB of 7.5 bits at 8 GHz and 6.5 bits at 25 GHz, providing optimized performance for cutting-edge fields such as high-speed communications, high-energy physics, AI, and quantum computing.
Additionally, by utilizing 10G SFP+ LAN and TekHSI™ library, data transmission speeds up to 10 times faster than existing equipment are realized, and complex signals are transmitted with less noise. It can capture and analyze data to maximize engineers' work efficiency.
“When the limits of your test system become the limits of your innovation, a new approach is needed,” said Chris Bohn, president of Tektronix. “The 7 Series was developed in collaboration with engineers who solve the world’s most complex problems.”
Early collaborating customers included high-energy physics research teams, semiconductor manufacturers, national laboratories, and RF system integrators, and key features were defined based on their feedback.
Active equalization via QuietChannel™ technology compensates for high-speed signal loss and reduces noise to improve measurement fidelity.
The 7 Series features a 15.6-inch 1080p touchscreen and supports Windows and Linux OS, and provides long-term expandability and compatibility through native serial analysis tools and the TekConnect® probe interface.
It also features TekScope® software with an intuitive UI and integrated programming controls, ensuring a consistent user experience throughout the test workflow.
The first model in the 7 Series DPO, the DPO714AX, is available for order now and will begin shipping later this month. To request a product demo or for more information, visit Tektronix' official website, tek.com.
