National Instruments (NI), a global measurement and automation solutions company, has donated 4.5 billion won worth of AI-based software to Seoul National University, actively promoting digital transformation and creating a smart research environment for its students and faculty.
On the 26th, NI signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seoul National University at the Seoul National University Information Center for the donation of the latest AI-based software and cooperation in education and research.
The two organizations plan to actively pursue future technology and strengthen research capabilities by activating software utilization.
NI donated the latest version of its flagship software, LabVIEW™, to Seoul National University as a volume license that allows simultaneous access by more than 100 users.
The software features AI Advisor 'Nigel™', developed based on OpenAI's ChatGPT, which can dramatically improve the accuracy and efficiency of test automation.
The donation amount is approximately 4.5 billion won, and Seoul National University will receive We will have an environment where the entire process, from data collection to analysis, simulation, and verification testing, can be performed precisely and quickly.
This agreement goes beyond simply providing software; it aims to strengthen the automated software utilization capabilities of Seoul National University students and faculty and to create a smart research environment.
The two organizations plan to jointly pursue cooperative activities such as: △education and service support for NI software utilization, △license distribution and management based on dedicated servers, △technology consulting and seminars to improve the utilization of research equipment, △building a smart research environment based on AI Advisor, and △strengthening the research foundation through continuous consultation and collaboration.
Seoul National University Information Center Director Gil-Gon Koh said, “Through this agreement, Seoul National University will accelerate the digital transformation of research and secure a creative and practical research environment,” adding, “It will be of great help in strengthening convergence research and global competitiveness.”
“It is meaningful to support Seoul National University with NI’s technology to cultivate key talent,” said Suri Huat, vice president of NI Asia Pacific (APAC). “We hope that this donation will lead to substantial research capacity enhancement in various fields such as 6G, AI, autonomous driving, aerospace, bio, and nuclear power.”
