6G·Mobility·AI Network Industry-Academic Cooperation MOU
NI (National Instruments) and Nubicom (CEO Shin Dong-man) will provide 500 million won worth of software and specialized technical support to Hanyang University, and will begin full-scale industry-academia-research cooperation focused on securing next-generation technologies and industrial sites.
On the 29th, Nubicom announced that it signed an industry-academic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NI and Hanyang University's Beyond-G Global Innovation Center (Director: Professor Seonwoo Kim) for joint research and talent development in the fields of 6G next-generation communications, mobility, and AI networks.
This agreement signing ceremony was held at the Beyond-G Global Innovation Center on Hanyang University's Seoul Campus, and was attended by key officials including NI Korea Branch Manager Jeong Gu-hwan, Nubicom President Shin Dong-man, Hanyang University Professor Kim Seon-woo, Vice Dean Kwon Dae-woong, Professor Hwang Sun-min, and Professor Song Ik-hyeon.
Prior to the agreement, a ceremony to donate the University Development Fund was held in the main building. President Lee Ki-jeong, Vice President Kim Min-soo, Director of the Office of External Cooperation Choi Jung-seop, and Dean of the College of Engineering Hwang Hee-jun attended the ceremony to present a plaque of appreciation for NI's software donation and to hold a Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Through this agreement, NI will provide Hanyang University with a total of KRW 500 million worth of graphic-based software, including NI LabVIEW (2-year subscription, 100 copies), RFmx Celluler (6 copies), and RFmx Connectivity (4 copies) free of charge., we will also consider discounts on future hardware purchases.
Nubicom will be responsible for the domestic supply and technical support of NI products, and plans to continue practical cooperation by deploying engineers to research sites.
The main contents of the agreement include: △Establishment of a joint research foundation and sharing of results; △Personnel exchange for training of professional manpower; △Cooperation for the spread of industrial technology, etc. Hanyang University plans to actively cooperate in expanding practice and research using NI and Nubicom products, producing wireless handbooks, and technology marketing.
President Lee Ki-jeong said, “I hope that Hanyang University students will grow into innovative talents who will lead future industries by utilizing NI’s cutting-edge software. As a university that shares technological innovation, we will proactively respond to changes in future society.”
Director Kim Seon-woo said, “Beyond-G Global Innovation Center is a global research hub leading next-generation communications, mobility, and AI network technologies. Through this agreement, we will strengthen our industry-centered education and training environment and spur the creation of research results.”
NI Korea Managing Director Jeong Gu-hwan said, “We hope that our collaboration with Hanyang University will be of practical help in strengthening students’ practical skills, and we will contribute to the development of future key talent through the Beyond-G NI LabVIEW Open Lab.”
Nubcom CEO Shin Dong-man expressed his intention to expand industry-academia cooperation, saying, “Based on our customer support know-how and technological prowess, we will actively support research linked to NI and do our best to supply automotive and semiconductor solutions.”
