모라이가 세계 최대 연구혁신 프로그램인 호라이즌 유럽(Horizon Europe)에 참여해 자율주행 상용화를 위한 시스템 연구개발에 나선다.
Collaboration with 17 global research institutes including Hanjaeyeon and University of Geneva
Development of a virtualized collaborative autonomous driving system passenger and driver support system Morai is participating in Horizon Europe, the world's largest research and innovation program, to conduct research and development on systems for commercializing autonomous driving.
Morai announced on the 13th that it is participating in the Horizon Europe project, ‘Development of a virtualized collaborative autonomous driving system passenger and driver support system for activating a fully autonomous driving ecosystem.’
Horizon Europe is the world's largest multilateral research and innovation program, supporting a total of €95.5 billion (about 138 trillion won) from 2021 to 2027.
Korea completed negotiations to become the first Asian country to join Horizon Europe as an associate member in March, and is expected to join as an associate member in 2025.
This project is being carried out with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the International Joint Technology Development Project, and a total of 17 leading global research institutes will participate for three years from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.
Morai works closely with the Korea Automobile Research Institute, the main organization for this project.
The purpose of this study is to build a monitoring system that can collect remote autonomous driving system operation information by monitoring the interior and exterior of a vehicle, detecting dangerous situations, and displaying the information in real time inside and outside the vehicle. />
Moray is developing a virtual human body that can guarantee the privacy of the vehicle's interior and exterior environments and passengers using its digital twin technology.
Based on this, we plan to develop AI that can detect dangerous situations and build a user-friendly monitoring P-VAS (Personalized Vehicle Assistance System) platform by linking and integrating individual systems.
“I am delighted that Morai will be the first domestic startup to directly participate in research since Korea became the first Asian country to become an associate member of Horizon Europe,” said Jeong Ji-won, CEO of Morai. “The joint research with Europe that we are pursuing this time could become an important foundation for accelerating the commercialization of autonomous driving.”
He continued, “Moray will actively engage in research and development to advance simulation technology and advance innovation in the autonomous driving industry through joint research and technology exchanges with the Korea Automobile Research Institute and European institutions.”
Meanwhile, Morai plans to strengthen its presence in the European market through its participation in this Horizon Europe program.
Morai recently established a corporation in Germany and is expanding its business in Europe and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) regions.
To this end, we are appointing mobility industry experts as branch managers, recruiting local experts, and accelerating our market entry strategy.
