Etiforce (CEO Ho-Jun Kim), a startup specializing in V2X communication technology, is accelerating its entry into the global market by obtaining official certification from OmniAir Consortium, an international V2X certification body.
Etiforce announced on the 12th that it has obtained OmniAir certification for its LTE-V2X-based vehicle terminal 'V2X-AIR'.
Through this certification, Etiphos has established a foundation for global expansion by gaining recognition for the competitiveness of its products in major markets such as the US and Europe.
'V2X-AIR' is an aftermarket vehicle terminal that meets the V2X standards of various countries, including the US, Korea, China, and Europe. It is easy to install and maximizes convenience by linking with a smartphone app.
It is being evaluated as having significantly improved the complicated installation process and low usability that were pointed out in existing V2X products.
Etiforce CTO Yongtae Park said, “V2X-AIR“It is a product that has passed both indoor and real-road driving tests,” the company said, adding, “Through OmniAir certification, it has been officially recognized for the communication quality and interoperability required in major markets such as the U.S.”
OmniAir certification is a key standard that ensures interoperability and communication performance between V2X devices, and is considered a prerequisite for entry into major V2X infrastructure markets, especially in North America.
“We congratulate Etiforce on achieving OmniAir certification for their V2X-AIR OBU,” said Jason Conley, Secretary General of the OmniAir Consortium. “We applaud Etiforce’s efforts to deliver trusted interoperability solutions that improve road safety and mobility.”
This certification was conducted by the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), the only OmniAir certification testing agency in Korea.
Kang Beom-gu, head of TTA Information and Communication Testing and Certification Research Institute, said, “Since receiving official qualification from OmniAir in 2021, TTA has been supporting international certification and commercialization of V2X equipment by domestic companies.”
Starting with this vehicle terminal certification, Etifos plans to sequentially secure OmniAir certification for all of its V2X equipment, including roadside units (RSUs), by the first half of 2025.
The strategy is to strengthen reliability and technological prowess in the global market and leap forward as a comprehensive V2X solution provider.
