Elektrobit Develops SDV Optimized for the AURIX™ TC4x

기사입력2025.08.04 14:34

Integrating Rust and AUTOSAR Classic with Hitec and Infineon Drive Cores

Elektrobit, a leading automotive software solutions company, and Hitec EDV-Systems (hereinafter Hitec) will continue to drive automotive software innovation that simultaneously satisfies functional safety, cybersecurity, and performance through Infineon's Drive Core.

Elektrovi has joined the Hitec and Infineon Drive Core ecosystems to present a comprehensive development bundle for integrating Rust applications into AUTOSAR Classic basic software.

This collaboration aims to revolutionize the development of AUTOSAR Classic-based ECUs (electronic control units) by introducing Rust, which guarantees memory stability in the AUTOSAR Classic environment.

As Drive Core partners, Elektrobit and HiTek offer the EB tresos AutoCore configuration tool and HiTek's LLVM-based Rust and C/C++ compiler in a single package.

Specifically optimized for the AURIX™ TC4x series, the Drive Core Software Bundle includes MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer), example code, and tutorials to help developers get started developing Rust-based SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) applications right away.

Rust's memory safety and performanceCapability is a key element in responding to strengthened security and safety regulations such as the UNECE UN R155 (Automotive Cybersecurity Regulation) and the EU CRA (Cyber Resilience Act).

Combining the ISO 26262 ASIL D certified Hitec Rust compiler with Elektrobit's functional safety software enables hybrid development that coexists with existing C/C++ code.

This enables developers to quickly implement high-performance, high-reliability ECU software while reducing risk.

“This integrated bundle seamlessly combines the safety of Rust with AUTOSAR Classic, providing a solution optimized for the development of modern automotive ECUs,” said Florian Bartels, Chief Architect at Elektrobit.

Patrick Will, Senior Director of Automotive Software at Infineon, also said, “DriveCore will revolutionize the automotive industry,” and added, “We have high expectations for the collaboration between Elektrobit and HiTek.”

“This bundle, which combines the proven LLVM open-source technology-based Rust compiler with Elektrobit tools, will help automakers and component manufacturers secure market competitiveness,” said Mario Cupelli, CTO of HiTek.
