Hyundai Motor Group has embarked on building a software development ecosystem with key partners to accelerate the era of software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
Hyundai Motor Group held the 'Pleos SDV Standard Forum' at the Software Dream Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do on the 20th.
Engineers from 58 major domestic and international control unit partners, including Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai Kefico, Bosch, Continental, and HL Mando, attended the event and shared technical standards and development systems for SDV conversion.
SDV is a platform that allows for continuous software updates and functional expansion even after the vehicle is released, differentiating it from existing hardware-centric vehicles.
Hyundai Motor Group is building a software-centric collaboration system to innovate its supply chain for SDV mass production and strengthen industry-wide response capabilities.
This forum began with a keynote speech by Song Chang-hyun, head of AVP division at Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors, and consisted of five sessions: △Transformation of vehicle development method △Application of CODA architecture △Development based on Pleos Vehicle OS △Plug & Play external device structure △OEM-partner integrated development tool system..
Specifically, a standardized software development system for SDV development is introduced, along with specific guidelines for partners to apply it to their own environments. This system encompasses the entire process, from specification definition to functional verification and development issue management, and enables real-time data linkage while maintaining security.
The introduction of a standardized environment is expected to organically integrate the controller development capabilities of each partner company, thereby improving development efficiency and quality and contributing to the transformation of the existing vertical supply chain into a horizontal cooperative structure.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to use this forum as an opportunity to support its partners in discovering new business opportunities suited to the SDV era and to promote rapid technological transition through regular technology sharing.
“Close collaboration among key partners and the expansion of a standardized development system are essential for SDV implementation,” said Song Chang-hyun, head of headquarters. “We will build a software-centric collaboration network through the continuous distribution of technology standards.”
Meanwhile, e4ds News will host the "
2025 e4ds Tech Day " event on September 9th, covering innovative technologies in AI, power semiconductors, autonomous driving, and SDV. At this event, participants will explore centralized architectures for autonomous driving and SDV, ADAS and V2X integration, and hardware and software integrated solutions that ensure quality, safety, and security.
