Apex.OS, QNX SDP 8.0 officially compatible
Apex.AI, an AI-based autonomous systems software company, is collaborating with QNX to accelerate deterministic AI for autonomous and robotic systems.
Apex announced on the 2nd that its AI native operating system, Apex.OS, is officially compatible with QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0.
Through this collaboration, automotive OEMs, robotics development teams, medical device manufacturers, and mobility service companies can accelerate the development of mass-producible autonomous and robotic systems equipped with both advanced AI performance and real-time motion performance capable of safety certification.
Apex.OS is a secure, certified software development framework designed based on ROS 2 (Robot Operating System 2). It operates on a layer above the QNX operating system and provides real-time middleware, execution environments, and communication services.
Apex.AI explained, “The combination of an AI-first execution environment and QNX’s next-generation real-time operating system (RTOS) significantly reduces the time to transition from the prototype stage to a securely certified deployment stage.”
Currently, both companies are conducting a joint demo to show how the compatibility of the two platforms works in actual autonomous driving and robotics workloads.
