Recognized for expanding new customers in the Asia-Pacific region, accelerating penetration of automotive, industrial, and edge AI markets
Mouser Electronics received the 'Top Customer Count Asia 2025 Award' from NXP Semiconductors. This recognition acknowledges the company's contribution to expanding NXP's market reach by acquiring the most new customers in the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating that customer acquisition capabilities for semiconductor distributors are emerging as a key element of supply chain competitiveness.

According to Mouser on the 4th, this award was selected based on the number of new and existing customers who adopted NXP products in the Asia-Pacific region during 2025. Mouser was recognized for contributing to the expansion of the customer base by supporting the market entry of NXP solutions, focusing on the automotive, industrial automation, and edge AI sectors.

NXP is a company with strengths in automotive semiconductors, industrial processors, and secure connectivity solutions. Recently, it has been strengthening its product portfolio in line with the expansion of the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), Industrial IoT, and AI edge computing markets. Amid these market changes, the ability of distribution channels to acquire customers is considered a factor directly linked to the speed of technology diffusion.

Mouser has supported design engineers and purchasing managers in rapidly securing the latest components based on its New Product Introduction (NPI) strategy and extensive inventory management system. NXP explained that Mouser contributed to its customer expansion strategy through its capabilities in acquiring new customers and providing technical support.

The two companies have maintained a long-standing cooperative relationship, and Mouser currently supplies NXP's product portfolio for automotive, industrial, IoT, mobile, and communications infrastructure. The award is attributed to the company's expansion of customer reach, particularly in the automotive electronics and industrial automation sectors, which have shown remarkable recent growth.

As the semiconductor industry is being restructured around AI, electric vehicles, and smart manufacturing, the role of component distributors is also changing. Distributors, which were previously limited to simple supply functions, are now recognized as key partners connecting manufacturers and customers by providing technical information, design support, and acting as channels for new product dissemination.

The industry views this award as evidence that competition for customer acquisition and technology diffusion is intensifying amidst expanding demand for automotive, industrial, and AI-related semiconductors in the Asian market. In particular, as global semiconductor companies strengthen their efforts to target growth markets, the influence of distribution channels is expected to grow even further in the future.
