Continental Tire is supplying original equipment (OE) tires for Volkswagen's new compact SUV, the T-Roc. The EcoContact 7 and EcoContact 7 S have been approved as summer OE tires, and all-season and winter products have also been presented as recommended tires.

Continental Tire announced on the 24th that it will supply two types of summer OE tires for the new T-Roc.

The T-Roc is Volkswagen's compact SUV model featuring improved design and interior configuration, as well as driver assistance functions.

The company explained that both products are designed with a focus on energy efficiency and quietness, with the 'EcoContact 7' offering low rolling resistance and efficiency, and the 'EcoContact 7 S' adding sporty driving performance to efficiency.

Both products reduced internal tire friction and rolling resistance using special rubber compounds and Smart Energy Casing technology.

It features a sidewall design that takes airflow into account, as well as 'Aerodimple' technology inspired by the surface of a golf ball.

In terms of quietness The company stated that it reduced noise through a Silent Pattern tread design and adjusted the arrangement and angle of the tread blocks to match the noise frequencies generated during urban driving.

'EcoContact 7' is available in 16, 17, and 18-inch sizes, and 'EcoContact 7 S' is available in 16, 17, and 19-inch sizes.

Volkswagen recommends 'AllSeasonContact 2' for drivers who prefer all-season tires.

It is reported to provide balanced performance and low rolling resistance on dry, wet, and snowy roads.

WinterContact TS 870 P is recommended for the winter season.

The company explained that it secured traction on snowy and icy roads with an optimized tread pattern and sipe structure, and applied a compound that maintains flexibility at low temperatures.

The specifications supplied for the new T-Roc include EcoContact 7 S (225/45 R19, 225/55 R17, 225/60 R16), EcoContact 7 (225/50 R18, 225/55 R17, 225/60 R16), WinterContact TS 870 P (215/60 R16, 215/55 R17), and All Season Contact 2 (215/55 R17, 225/50 R18).
