Combining Schneider’s sales capabilities with KTE’s manufacturing capabilities Schneider Electric and KTE, a company specializing in ships and marine plants, established a joint venture on the 12th and are moving to strengthen their market presence.
On September 11, the two companies held a signing ceremony for the establishment of a joint venture company at the KTE headquarters in Busan, with key figures in attendance, including Frederic Godemel, Global Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric Energy Sector, Kim Kyung-rok, CEO of Schneider Electric Korea, Choi Seung-hyun, Vice President of Schneider Electric Northeast Asia Energy Sector, Koo Bon-seung, CEO of KTE, and Kim Young-shin, Vice President of KTE Business Division.
The two companies will begin formal procedures for establishing a joint corporation, 'Schneider-KTE', through joint investment. The purpose of establishing this corporation is to establish a domestic direct production base, focusing on cutting-edge intelligent switchboards, and reflects the will to establish a firm position in the domestic and international energy-intensive plant and intelligent building markets that require high reliability.
'Schneider-KTE' will serve as a dedicated production base that manufactures Schneider Electric's medium and low voltage switchgear models exclusively for domestic customers. This is a strategic choice to satisfy the Korean market, which is becoming increasingly important in the global market, and domestic customers with a high level of technology.
The joint venture, 'KTE', was established in 1979 and is a specialized manufacturer of electrical and control equipment for ships and marine plants, possessing the best technology and engineering capabilities in the field.
'Schneider-KTE' will present products exclusively for large plants and EPC by adding KTE's manufacturing and engineering capabilities to Schneider Electric's diverse product line, R&D, and sales capabilities. With this, the two companies will complete the domestic business base covering the entire onshore and offshore market, and will be able to flexibly respond to various customer needs by resolving delivery and service issues.
