FLOEFD is a 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solution embedded in major mechanical computer-aided design (MCAD) systems such as Creo, CATIA V5, Siemens NX, Solid Edge, and SolidWorks.
The newly added Boundary Condition Independent Reduced Order Model (BCI-ROM) extracts dynamic compact thermal models for various heat transfer coefficient values defined in the Simcenter FLOEFD model.
The Thermal Netlist Extraction feature converts an entire Simcenter FLOEFD project into a thermal netlist using ROM technology. This thermal netlist is linked to the electrical netlist before electrical thermal analysis.
The Package Creator Tool is a specialized tool for quickly creating thermal models of electronic packages for use in Simcenter FLOEFD. It can be launched from the Windows Start menu or from Simcenter FLOEFD.
The Electrical Element feature is a miniature thermoelectric model that allows users to add components to DC heat transfer calculations based on the electrical resistance of a given component. There are two types of electrical elements: resistance and wire. Resistance elements use the total electrical resistance provided, while wire elements automatically calculate resistance based on the wire's material properties, length, and cross-sectional area.
The new Simcenter FLOEFD BCI-ROM + Package Generator module consists of a BCI-ROM, thermal netlist exporter, and package generator. It also adds a PCB compact model, previously available only in the Simcenter FLOEFD Electronics Cooling module.
The Simcenter FLOEFD Electronics Cooling Center module consists of several module capabilities, including the Simcenter FLOEFD Electronics Cooling Module, the Simcenter FLOEFD EDA Bridge Module, the Simcenter FLOEFD T3STER Auto Calibration Module, and the new Simcenter FLOEFD BCI-ROM + Package Generator Module and new electrical component capabilities.
This package allows you to tackle the most challenging electronics cooling challenges within your preferred CAD interface. For maximum flexibility, each module listed above can still be used separately.
