Supporting cutting-edge industrial applications such as vision-guided robotics, logistics and autonomous vehicles, Hydra3D features a state-of-the-art 10µm 3-tap pixel. Designed with Teledyne e2v’s proprietary CMOS technology, it is manufactured by analog semiconductor foundry Tower Semiconductor.

With a resolution of 832×600 pixels, Hydra3D offers a transmission time of 20ns minimum, excellent demodulation contrast and sensitivity. It can operate in real time in indoor and outdoor conditions, short, medium and long distances, while providing excellent time accuracy.

3-tap pixels enable reliable 3D detection and real-time decision-making in fast-moving scenes by composing depth maps at 30fps or higher without motion blur. Simultaneous 2D and 3D output with a wide field of view allows for a system with high price-performance ratio.

It provides excellent adaptability in various scenarios under all lighting conditions. Flexible configuration and on-chip HDR capabilities allow for a balance between distance range, object reflectivity, and frame rate, while delivering excellent performance even in ambient light.

It also has built-in capabilities to enable multi-ToF system operation, allowing non-synchronized systems to operate simultaneously without causing interference.

Hydra3D is supplied with an evaluation kit (Hydra3D EK) that allows customers to test the sensor in a variety of application environments. The evaluation kit includes a calibrated 2/3-inch light source and lens.

It outputs 3D information in real time based on the ToF principle across all resolutions and is available in two models: a short-range (up to 5 m) and a medium-range (up to 10 m) version with a field of view of 60°×45° or 40°×30°. It also supports customers' Hydra3D operation evaluation with various self-made modeling tools.

Samples will be available in August 2020, and evaluation kits will be available in September 2020.
