The VIPer31 is optimized for commonly used off-line AC/DC converter topologies, including isolated and non-isolated flyback, buck, and buck-boost converters. It contributes to cost-effective, compact PCB design by requiring few external components.
Featuring high conversion efficiency, 230VAC input and less than 20mW no-load power consumption, the VIPer31 is suitable for switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) in large or small appliances, air conditioners, smart home or smart building automation, lighting, meters, and motor control applications.
It features a PWM jitter controller with 30kHz, 60kHz, and 132kHz options, an 800V avalanche performance MOSFET power stage, high-voltage startup circuitry, sense FETs, an error amplifier for direct feedback, an internal power supply with no auxiliary windings, and no clamps.
The Vcc supply voltage range is 4.5 V to 30 V, and the drain startup voltage of 24 V
DC further reduces external circuitry, and the wide AC input voltage support increases flexibility in consumer or industrial applications.
It also has built-in overvoltage and undervoltage protection, soft start, short-circuit protection, pulse-skipping protection, and thermal shutdown functions.
The VIPer31 is in production in a SO16N package, priced at $0.46 for quantities of 1,000 pieces.
