Oh Gyu-seok, the new CEO of Daesung Industrial Gases, has taken office and is getting down to the real work.

On the 19th, Daesung Industrial Gases held an online and offline inauguration ceremony for the new CEO and President of Daesung Industrial Gases, Oh Gyu-seok, at the D Cube Office in Sindorim-dong.

Previously, Macquarie shareholders had appointed President Oh Kyu-seok as the new CEO.

Due to COVID-19, only about 10 Daesung Industrial Gas executives attended the inauguration ceremony, and the rest of the employees attended online to congratulate the inauguration of the new CEO, Oh Gyu-seok.

In his inauguration speech, President Oh Kyu-seok said, “As CEO, I will first find the company’s growth engine, constantly think about it, and make investments toward it.” He added, “I will build a strong organizational culture that pursues communication and innovation, making it an organization governed by rationality through communication. In addition, while pursuing a strong organization, I will not spare support for talent development, so that the company’s system can implement a talent development system that fosters good talent.”

Lastly, the CEO particularly emphasized safety and ESG.

President Oh Gyu-seok said, “Safety is an area that directly affects the lives and quality of life of all of us, so there is no need to emphasize it again.” He added, “Regarding the ESG environment, which has recently become a major issue, in the past we only had to maintain a minimum level, but now thorough compliance is directly related to the competitiveness of the company. We must closely understand and analyze these environmental changes and actively use them as a key element of our competitive edge.” He emphasized, “We must make it a factor.”

The new CEO, Oh Gyu-seok, graduated from Seoul National University's Department of Economics and Graduate School of Business Administration, and held various high-ranking positions at C&M, Daerim Industrial, and POSCO.
