“We have seen rapid adoption of the RP2040 and $4 Raspberry Pi Pico boards since their launch in January,” said Dr Eben Upton, CBE, founder of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. “The availability of high-performance, professional development tools is important to the industry.” That's why he said that this IAR Embedded Workbench support is a very important milestone for Raspberry Pi.

“The ability to rapidly prototype and explore ideas on an easy-to-use development platform is critical to success in today’s fast-paced world of software development,” said Anders Holmberg, Chief Technology Officer at IAR Systems. “IAR Embedded Workbench and Raspberry Pi Pico provide a unified path from ideation to a professional software development workflow.”

IAR Embedded Workbench for Arm provides everything developers need in a single, easy-to-use integrated development environment. The tool chain provides extensive debugging and analysis capabilities, including complex code and data breakpoints, runtime stack analysis, call stack visualization, code coverage analysis, and integrated power consumption monitoring.

It also ensures code quality by integrating the static code analysis tool C-STAT and the runtime analysis tool C-RUN. IAR Systems provides worldwide technical support and on-demand training opportunities.
