Lam Research Manufacturing Korea will double its domestic production capacity through the construction of a new plant in Hwaseong and provide proactive support to global semiconductor customers.

Lam Research Manufacturing Korea, Lam Research's global semiconductor equipment production base, celebrated its 10th anniversary on November 1.

Since its establishment in 2011, Lam Research Manufacturing Korea has grown alongside the Korean semiconductor industry ecosystem, going beyond local sourcing of parts to domestic production of semiconductor equipment over the past 10 years. Beyond simple sourcing of parts, the company has grown together with its domestic partners through strict quality control and education, to the point of exporting semiconductor equipment manufactured domestically to the global market. In fact, by increasing production every year, the company produced its 7,000th unit in 2021, achieving the result of exporting it to the global market along with domestic supply.

We are also expanding our support for domestic and global customers. Since establishing the Osan plant in Gyeonggi Province in 2011, we have expanded our production facilities and are further enhancing our support level for global semiconductor customers. Following the establishment of a second logistics center in Yongin City in 2020, the company began full-scale operation of its third domestic factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province in the second half of 2021.

The Hwaseong plant, equipped with cutting-edge semiconductor equipment manufacturing facilities, has a production capacity that is comparable to the combined production capacity of the existing plants located in Osan and Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The expansion of domestic production capacity through this new Mars plant is also a response to the growing global demand for semiconductor production, allowing us to support global customers more quickly and ahead of the curve.
