The Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute (Director Joo Young-chang) and Seoul National University’s New Materials Research Institute (Director Kim Mi-young) have joined hands to provide analysis support to small and medium-sized semiconductor companies in Gyeonggi Province.

On the 11th, Yunjin Chemical announced that it signed an agreement with the New Materials Research Institute to strengthen analytical technology support for small and medium-sized semiconductor material, component, and equipment businesses in Gyeonggi Province.

This agreement ceremony held at Yonsei University was attended only by Yonsei University President Joo Young-chang, New Materials Research Institute Director Kim Mi-young, and other essential personnel from each organization, and was conducted in compliance with the social distancing guidelines due to COVID-19.

Through this business agreement, the two organizations promised to build a comprehensive mutually cooperative relationship based on each organization’s characteristics and strengths in specialized technology fields related to analysis equipment, including: △support for analysis equipment between cooperating organizations; △technical advice and information exchange on analysis technology difficulties; △establishment of a network for the advancement and expansion of analysis technology; and △provision of related technology trends.

The Yunggiwon Materials and Equipment Research Group (hereinafter referred to as the Group) has developed a variety of medium and large-sized analysis equipment that small and medium-sized businesses in the province had difficulty introducing due to the burden of cost. We have established and operated the Central Analysis Support Center since October 2020.

The Central Analysis Support Center is actively responding to the analysis needs of companies in the province by quickly providing advanced test analysis results from Ph.D.-level experts belonging to the Yonsei Research Institute’s business division, and is showing high satisfaction.

Through this business agreement, the Korea Institute of Advanced Materials and the Joint Research Institute for New Materials will not only exchange analytical equipment and analytical technology know-how owned by each organization, but will also actively and continuously cooperate to strengthen analytical technology capabilities to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the semiconductor material, component, and equipment industries in Gyeonggi Province, and have agreed to work together to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the province.

Yonggiwon President Youngchang Joo said, “This business agreement is a collaboration between the Central Analysis Support Office of Yonggiwon Business Group and the Seoul National University New Materials Research Institute. The two organizations aim to practice win-win cooperation with the local community using science and technology and promote the development of the small business industry in Gyeonggi-do.” He added, “We will do our best to resolve technical difficulties in the field.”
