OmniVision Technologies announced this year that it has changed its name to OMNIVISION and will continue to contribute to a better future by developing analog solutions and touch and display technologies.

At a press conference held on the 20th, Cho Jang-ho, CEO of Omnivision, introduced the company’s overall vision, new products, and technologies targeting key markets.

OmniVision Technologies changed its name to OMNIVISION and also revamped its corporate logo this year.

CEO Cho said, “OmniVision has strengthened R&D for analog solutions and touch/display technology businesses in addition to its main product, image sensor technology,” adding, “OmniVision’s goal is to contribute to realizing a better future.”

OmniVision is focusing on R&D by increasing its global R&D investment by 15% in 2021 compared to 2020, and has 1,644 R&D engineers, which is 49.95% of all employees.

Omnibus is ranked first in the world in five business sectors, excluding mobile, including automobiles, medical, computing, security, and emerging technologies such as AR. It has taken over and demonstrated leadership in the global market.

In addition, as of the third and fourth quarters of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, sensing solutions showed a growth rate of 23%, analog solutions showed a growth rate of 34%, and touch/display solutions showed a growth rate of 121%.

Next, CEO Cho introduced the new products unveiled at CES 2022.

The OVB0B is the world’s first image sensor to achieve 200MP resolution with the world’s smallest 0.61 micron pixel size for high-end smartphones.

It features a 16-pixel integrated processing method that significantly improves preview and video image quality, and has an accurate and fast autofocus function.

The OX05BS1 is the industry’s first 5MP RGB-IR global shutter sensor for in-vehicle monitoring systems.

Through integrated solutions, customers can minimize development period, volume, current consumption, and cost.

The OX03D4C is the industry's first 3MP resolution, ultra-low-power, ultra-small SoC image sensor for automotive cameras.

It supports 1/4 optical format through application of ultra-small 2.1 micron pixel size, and minimizes cost and size through built-in integrated ISP.

The TD4377 is a new full HD 144Hz touch and display driver IC for next-generation smartphones.

It supports 1080p FHD pixels and a 144Hz screen refresh rate, as well as a touch response speed that is twice as fast as the LCD display refresh rate.

CEO Cho also introduced products jointly developed with partners.

The ASIC for driver and passenger monitoring, jointly developed with Seeing Machines, features an ultra-low power design and is the first Iccula NPU-only solution.

Ajax SystemsThe wireless outdoor intrusion detector jointly developed with has an ultra-low power, excellent low-light performance, and HDR-supporting sensor.

This product has a built-in video processor that operates in the shortest time when an intrusion is detected.

Cho Jang-ho, CEO of Omnivision, said, “We will continue technological innovation to maintain our position as the world’s No. 1 in five business divisions, including mobile and automobile,” and “We will carry out R&D projects to lead the market through various processes and new product launches.”
