An innovative technology that combines temperature and humidity sensors with 4G/5G communications to prevent products from spoiling during distribution and delivery on hot summer days has attracted attention.

On the 4th, Emerson announced at the THAIFEX Anuga Asia trade show that its GO Real-Time 4G/5G Tracker was selected as the Best Innovative Product of 2022.

Emerson’s GO Realtime 4G/5G Tracker was selected by Typhex Anu as one of 42 finalists and 15 finalist innovations from over 500 entries submitted by over 1,500 exhibitors in Asia.

Emerson highlighted that its GO real-time 4G/5G tracker was selected as the only technology finalist for the Elite product line.

GO Realtime 4G/5G trackers use cellular technology to monitor in-transit conditions such as temperature, location, light, and humidity. Emerson’s 4G and 5G cellular technologies further enhance data connectivity and access, enabling easy, continuous tracking of shipments and providing visibility into temperature, humidity and location data.

It also mentions that it can be connected using multiple modes such as Cat-M, NBIoT or GSM to ensure optimal connectivity worldwide, and that it guarantees a usage period of 20 days.

Combined with Emerson’s cloud-based online software platform, Oversight, the tracker can be configured to notify users in real time via text or email if temperature-sensitive conditions deviate during shipment, the company said.

“Emerson’s technology provides our customers with real-time data, monitoring and management services so they can take immediate action if there is an issue, whether they are transporting food, pharmaceuticals or other cargo,” said Ivan Pullin, director of Emerson Cargo Solutions Asia.

Meanwhile, TAIFEX ANUGHA ASIA is the Asian version of Germany's ANUGHA, the world's largest food and beverage industry exhibition, and is operated under a total of 11 themes including food tech, fruits and vegetables, etc., and was held at the Impact Muang Thong Thani exhibition center in Thailand in May.

Taifex Anuga Asia judges the finalists for products that showcase food and beverage trends and innovations, and the finalists are selected based on a variety of criteria, from technology to uniqueness of taste and packaging, to ingredients and creative presentation.
