D-VTG·Tetra2pixel applied ISOCELL HP2, professional-grade camera experience

The most notable change in the latest smartphones is probably the advancement of camera performance. With each new product release, the camera application seeks to upgrade various functions and specifications, becoming a key element of the smartphone market.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra, released last February, is equipped with the 'ISOCELL HP2' image sensor with 200 million 0.6㎛ (micrometer) sized pixels. The Galaxy S23 Ultra has adopted the largest ISOCELL HP2 image sensor among the Galaxy series that applies Adaptive Pixel.
The ISOCELL HP2 is a large-sized image sensor that delivers improved color and image clarity, enabling precise scene capture even in harsh environmental conditions. The larger size allows for more pixels to be packed into the image, so a 200 million pixel image will produce a result 16 times larger than a 12.5 megapixel image.

In image sensors, pixels refer to how much more information can be captured in a photo. This is why 16 times more information and detail allows the image to be cropped or cut out while maintaining a relatively high resolution.
In addition, the 'Dual VTG (Dual VTG)' pixel structure was designed to allow each pixel in the image sensor to absorb more light and express richer colors. The D-VTG structure has the advantage of enabling accurate color expression even in excessively lit environments.

Conversely, in dark environments, larger pixels are needed to capture more light. Therefore, by applying Tetra2pixel technology, which supports the optimal pixel shooting desired by users with performances of △200MP △50MP △12MP, the area receiving light can be expanded.
In basic mode or in dark environments, you can shoot with 12 million pixels, and the larger pixels capture more light. When you need detailed descriptions in bright environments, you can shoot with 200 million pixel mode to capture rich details in your photos.
In a night shooting environment, it is corrected by applying AI technology to output clearer colors and image quality as well as tetrasquare pixel technology. In addition, it boasts the latest performance such as △Super QPD autofocus technology in all pixels △120 frame 4K·30 frame 8K video shooting.
