Intel, “Expanding AI PC Market by Expanding AI Functions”
100+ ISV partnerships, all-out effort to develop AI functions
100 million AI PCs to be shipped by 2025, with over 400 AI functions
The era of full-fledged AI PCs is dawning with the introduction of NPU-combined processors that enhance AI operations. As Intel officially unveils its latest AI PC processor in Korea, various AI functions that were not possible in the traditional PC era are being developed and unveiled, and it is expected that the use of AI PCs will bring diverse changes to real life.
Intel held a domestic media conference to launch the latest Intel AI PC processor at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul on the 28th.
Intel announced the domestic launch of the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S desktop processor codenamed Arrow Lake-S and the Intel Core Ultra 200V series processor family codenamed Luna Lake, and unveiled new notebook products from major manufacturers equipped with the latest cores.
On this day, the newly appointed CEO of Intel Korea, Bae Tae-won, said, “The term AI is familiar, but some say that AI is still far from our lives,” and explained that Intel is preparing to expand AI functions and the AI PC market through this from an ecosystem perspective.
Intel announced that it has shipped 20 million AI PCs based on its AI laptop processor Meteor Lake, and aims to ship up to 40 million units this year. It is making all-out efforts to expand the market, such as completing the development of AI functions based on about 300 ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) that enhance user experience, with the goal of shipping 100 million units by 2025.
In particular, it is expected that around 100 AI functions will provide users with practical convenience, work efficiency, and power consumption reduction benefits through the use of AI. On this day, Intel unveiled AI function demos such as OMNIBRIDGE's gesture recognition sign language-to-text interpretation function and Cephable's gesture and voice recognition-based shortcut key and macro designation.
Intel was presenting a wide range of practical examples of AI PC utilization based on this ISV ecosystem. △Software vendors such as Adobe, Zoom, CyberLink, ByteDance, and Deepbrain AI are reported to have completed the development of AI functions and are in the process of optimizing them.
At the new product briefing, Jack Huang, APJ Sales Director of Intel Sales Marketing Group, appeared and introduced the new Intel Core processor. Director Jack Huang said, “In 2022, there were only 15 AI functions, but now there are about 300, and by 2025, we will optimize more than 400,” emphasizing, “Things that were impossible to implement before AI PCs will enable new usage models through the power of AI.”
This can be realized by implementing low-power, high-performance AI with NPU-equipped Intel Core processors, which are the basis of AI PCs, and Intel emphasized that AI function implementation can be optimized through CPU-GPU-NPU balance. ISV vendors can flexibly select task allocation between CPU-GPU-NPU according to AI function characteristics, enabling AI implementation with high power-to-performance ratio.
Intel said that it aims to improve the AI PC experience through this XPU platform integration approach.

Intel also unveiled its latest Core-based laptop lineup. △Samsung Electronics Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 △LG Electronics Gram Pro △HP Omnibook Ultra Flip △Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition △Asus Zenbook S14 △Acer Swift 14 AI △Dell XPS 13 were introduced as the latest AI PCs.
In addition, with the launch of the latest Intel Luna Lake-based Copilot Plus PC in collaboration with Microsoft (MS), the choices in the AI PC market are expected to become even more diverse. Park Beom-joo, Executive Director of MS Korea, said, “The partnership between MS and Intel will begin a new journey with the Copilot Plus PC,” and “The Copilot Plus PC will deliver results for users who demand battery life and performance in content creation, business video conferencing, and school lectures.”
It is reported that the H and HX series will be shipped in the first quarter of 2025, and 80-85% of the 100 million AI PC shipments next year will be laptops. It is reported that most of them will be Meteor Lake-based products, and Luna Lake and Arrow Lake-based laptops and desktops are also expected to gradually increase in proportion.
