“To build a great AI PC, you must first know how to build a great PC.”
Intel's interim co-CEO Michelle Johnston-Hulthaus opened Intel's CES 2025 opening ceremony this year, replacing former CEO Pat Gelsinger who retired. In her opening remarks, Michelle emphasized the era of AI PCs and the power of the processor, a key component of the PC.
Intel unveiled the new Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor at CES 2025 on the 6th (local time). The newly launched Ultra series lineup is said to feature the latest notebook processors for businesses, creators, and gamers, with improved performance including enhanced AI capabilities.
In addition, the new Intel Core Ultra 200V notebook processor with Intel vPro that strengthens business capabilities with AI-based productivity and improved IT management, the Intel Core Ultra 200HX and H series notebook processors with NPU and Intel Arc graphics, the Ultra 200U series with power-to-performance ratio, the Ultra 200U and 200S series for desktops, and Intel processors for edge computing were introduced.
“We have exceeded our sales expectations since the launch of Luna Lake (Intel Core Ultra 200V) last quarter, shipping over 1.5 million CPUs to date,” said CEO Michelle. “We are expanding our AI PC to the desktop area and meeting market expectations with the Intel Core Ultra 200S series, our desktop AI PC processor.”
Last year, Intel released the Intel Arc Series B580 desktop GPU, which has been well-received by gamers for its excellent cost-effectiveness. Building on this, Michel said that Intel is set to launch its second product, the Intel Arc B570, next week, and stressed that “Intel is providing a new option in this massive market that has been severely lacking in competitors, while delivering exceptional performance and AI acceleration.”
Intel's AI PC, in collaboration with Microsoft, will be launched as a Copilot+ PC with Intel Core Ultra 200V series processors, and the updated Intel vPro platform will reportedly provide comprehensive security, modern device management, and broad app compatibility for seamless IT transition and device replacement.
“2025 will be a pivotal year for Intel,” said CEO Michelle, predicting that “40 percent of PCs released this year will feature AI capabilities.”

Intel Core Ultra 200H and HX series processors are designed for the next generation of creators and gamers, and select Intel Core Ultra 200HX SKUs offer overclocking options for even higher performance.
Additionally, Intel is launching the Intel Core Ultra 200U Series notebook processors featuring up to 24 platform TOPS. This product is characterized by cost-effectiveness and power efficiency, and Intel recommends it to students and office workers who move around frequently.
Intel also announced an expansion of its lineup of Intel Core Ultra 200S Series desktop processors, featuring up to eight P-cores and 16 E-cores, delivering a high combination of performance and power efficiency across the entire range of desktop CPU use cases, including gaming, content creation, and creative applications.
“Intel’s 1.8nm process-based Panther Lake processor is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year,” said CEO Michelle. “We have already built the Panther Lake operating system and are sampling it to major customers.”
Meanwhile, Intel also unveiled a new line of processors for edge computing. These processors feature scalability and high performance in a variety of situations, and the Intel Core Ultra processor is ideal for AI workloads at the edge due to its power efficiency. Intel added that it is shown to outperform the competition in important metrics such as media processing and AI analytics.
