전력 공급 네트워크(PDN)가 효율 극대화를 위해 12V에서 48V 아키텍처로 전환하는 추세 속에서 48V 중심의 전력 모듈을 지원하는 신제품들이 속속 모습을 드러내고 있다.

▲Launch of Bycor DCM3717 and DCM3735 DC-DC power module product family
Up to 2kW power and 5kW/in³ power density
As power distribution networks (PDNs) transition from 12V to 48V architectures to maximize efficiency, new products supporting 48V-centric power modules are appearing one after another.
Vicor, a power module company, today announced the launch of its new DCM3717 and DCM3735 DC-DC power module product lines that deliver higher efficiency, higher power density, and lower weight compared to existing 12V power delivery networks (PDNs).
This family of non-isolated regulated DC-DC converters operates over a 40 to 60 V input range and supports an adjustable output from 10 to 12.5 V.
The DCM3717 family is available in 750 W and 1 kW models, while the DCM3735 supports 2 kW output. The new DCMs feature the ability to rapidly scale system power levels through parallel connections.
Bycor emphasized that this product family provides a power density of 5kW/in³, enabling high-performance 48V PDNs to efficiently support existing 12V loads, while significantly improving system size, weight and efficiency. Additionally, the 5.2mm ultra-thin SM-ChiP surface-mount package provides thermal management performance, enhancing the ease of heat dissipation design.
Vicor explains that power delivery networks (PDNs) are transitioning from 12V to 48V architectures to maximize efficiency, and the DCM family of products supports this transition seamlessly with 48V-centric power modules.
This non-isolated DCM family of products can be used with Vicor's BCM family of high-voltage fixed-ratio bus converters, facilitating conversion from 48V to nominal 12V in 48V bus implementations.
In particular, the transition to 48V PDNs is accelerating in industrial fields such as battery formation and test (BFT) and semiconductor automatic test equipment (ATE). The DCM3717/3735 product family supports the construction of high-performance 48V PDNs by connecting 48V and 12V, and plays a role in protecting existing investment assets, Vicor added.
The DCM3717S60E13G5TN1 (750W) and DCM3717S60D13K0TN1 (1000W) models are available now, with the DCM3735S60D13L0TN1 (2000W) model expected later this year. Vicor says its extensive ecosystem of 48V centric power modules provides easy scalability and flexibility when transitioning from high voltage to the point of load.
