Change through technology, leading to decarbonization and energy efficiency
Seeking innovation through digitalization through AI·IoT convergence
“Solving problems through technology and creating new possibilities through global cooperation. This is the philosophy that Infineon pursues and is at the core of the journey towards decarbonization and digitalization.”
Andreas Urschitz, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Infineon Technologies, spoke at OktoberTech Seoul 2025 held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 22nd, saying, 'Driving decarbonization and digitalization. In his keynote speech on the topic of ‘Together’, he introduced Infineon’s technologies for decarbonization and digitalization.
Andreas CMO said that with decarbonization and digitalization emerging as key topics across global industries, Infineon is positioning itself as a company that leads change by providing key technologies for this.
For the past 25 years, Infineon has driven industrial development through technological innovation, and recently, it has been accelerating the construction of environmentally friendly energy systems and the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital solutions. He said that these efforts go beyond simple technological development and stem from a philosophy to have a positive impact on society and the environment.
For sustainability, Infineon is developing advanced semiconductor solutions that maximize energy efficiency, and in particular, power semiconductors based on gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) minimize energy losses during power conversion and play a key role in electric vehicles, renewable energy and industrial automation.
In addition, the advancement of digital technology is creating new innovations across industries, and Infineon is developing technologies that are leading these changes, he said.
In particular, he mentioned that they are implementing a more intelligent and efficient system by combining artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
Infineon's microcontrollers and security solutions play an essential role in maximizing the energy efficiency of AI-based data centers and preventing security threats in IoT environments, the company said. In particular, hardware-based security solutions with encryption technology help ensure the safe operation of connected digital devices.
In addition, Infineon's technology is playing a key role in the smart mobility sector, developing precise sensors and high-efficiency semiconductors for the advancement of electric vehicles and autonomous driving systems., he said, adding that this will increase the stability and efficiency of future transportation systems.
CMO Andreas said that Infineon recognizes that technological innovation cannot be achieved alone and seeks sustainable development through global cooperation. He added that the company holds technology conferences such as 'OctoberTech' in major regions such as Asia, Europe and the US and cooperates with various companies and research institutes to seek sustainable solutions.
Through this collaboration, Infineon also said it is accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly technologies across industries and contributing to building more efficient systems through digitalization based on artificial intelligence and IoT.
