Nordic Semiconductor, a global leader in ultra-low power wireless connectivity technology, has acquired Memport, ensuring customer continuity with a hardware-agnostic platform strategy and revolutionizing the connected product lifecycle.


Nordic announced on the 2nd that it has acquired Memfault, a cloud platform company dedicated to connected devices.

With this acquisition, Nordic will become the first semiconductor company to offer a Chip-to-Cloud (C2C) platform that integrates hardware, software, and cloud, and will leap forward as a solution company covering the entire life cycle of IoT products.

The core of this C2C platform is that it integrates device status monitoring, remote maintenance, and OTA updates, enabling continuous improvement even after product launch.

By moving away from the complex and fragmented IoT ecosystem, it is expected to have the following effects: shortened product development periods, enhanced security, and reduced operating costs.

Nordic has integrated Memport’s technology into its existing nRF Cloud platform, giving it the ability to remotely manage millions of connected devices in real time.
