Microchip mSiC™ Family Combines Delta's Smart Energy-Saving Solutions
Amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the electrification of industries across the board, the demand for high-efficiency and high-reliability power solutions is rapidly increasing. Microchip Technology (Asia President and Korea Representative Byung-Don Han), a global leader in microcontrollers and analog semiconductors, and Delta Electronics, a company specializing in smart, eco-friendly solutions, have joined hands.
Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP) announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Delta to accelerate the development of next-generation power management systems by combining Microchip’s advanced silicon carbide (SiC) technology, the mSiC™ family, with Delta’s smart energy-saving solutions.
In particular, by utilizing SiC technology optimized for high-voltage and high-power applications, it is expected that smaller and more efficient designs will be possible and that it will also contribute to reducing the overall cost of the system.
“SiC is positioned as a key technology for sustainable power solutions due to its wide bandgap characteristics,” said Clayton Filion, vice president of Microchip’s Silicon Carbide Business Unit. “Through our collaboration with Delta, we will drive innovation in line with the industry trend of ‘electrification of Everything.’”
Delta is a highly efficientAs a global leader in power electronics technology, we are accelerating the development of solutions targeting high-growth markets such as AI, mobility, automation, and infrastructure.
This agreement will enable Delta to further accelerate product launches by leveraging Microchip’s extensive experience in SiC and digital control technologies.
The partnership will provide both companies with a range of benefits, including technical training, R&D insights and priority access to product samples, while also focusing resources on accelerating the integration of Microchip’s mSiC solutions into Delta’s designs and programs.
With over 20 years of experience in SiC devices and power solutions, Microchip is helping customers adopt SiC technology more easily, quickly and reliably.
The mSiC product family includes SiC MOSFETs, diodes, and gate drivers supporting standard, enhanced, and custom options.
