Lighting portfolio that completes your brand design

ams OSRAM, a global leader in intelligent sensors and emitters, is driving lighting innovation in the automotive industry with the launch of its SYNIOS™ LED family, which increases design flexibility and functional completeness in automotive lighting.

The recently introduced SYNIOS™ P1515, P2222, and P2720 series are applicable to a variety of lighting applications including rear lamps, grilles, headlamps, and signaling, providing solutions covering both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs).

Automotive lighting is a key element in reinforcing brand identity, and ams OSRAM supports the implementation of design languages that encompass both retro and futuristic styles. SYNIOS™ LEDs are gaining attention as high-performance components that provide excellent brightness, heat resistance, and installation flexibility for exterior and interior vehicle lighting, while also considering aerodynamic design and material compatibility.

SYNIOS™ P1515 LEDs provide a smooth, uniform appearance at the rear of the vehicle with their 360° radiation characteristics. They enable dramatic, clear signal designs with a small number of LEDs, and are available in a variety of colors and AEC-Q102 qualified for reliability and performance. By switching from conventional top-looker LEDs to side-emitting ones, manufacturers can enjoy the benefits of reduced material costs and increased design flexibility.

SYNIOS™ P2222 is an LED that reduces space constraints with its low height and area, enabling high-density implementation. Its platform structure is compatible with existing designs, easing the burden of redesign, and it can be implemented in various colors, allowing for signal lighting suitable for autonomous vehicles and EVs. In particular, cyan lighting is effective in visually conveying the autonomous driving status.

SYNIOS™ P2720 is based on SMD epoxy package and provides 120° radiation angle and excellent thermal stability. It is available in various colors and chip sizes in the same footprint and is IEC 60810 and AEC-Q102 qualified to operate reliably in harsh environments. Its ESD protection and high durability allow it to be widely used from indoor mood lighting to display backlighting.

ams OSRAM flexibly responds to the customized design needs of automobile manufacturers through its SYNIOS™ LED product family and is leading future trends in the automotive industry such as electrification and autonomous driving. The strategy is to enhance both vehicle functionality and brand awareness with a broad portfolio and advanced lighting technology covering everything from grilles to headlamps and signaling.
