With a cumulative investment of KRW 29.5 billion, business expansion is in full swing, including mass production of C-V2X hardware accelerator semiconductors.
Ettifos (CEO Ho-Jun Kim), a communications modem semiconductor company leading the next-generation intelligent transportation system (C-ITS) and fully autonomous driving communication technology, has successfully completed its Series B investment round, marking the start of its leap forward as a next-generation intelligent transportation system (C-ITS) and autonomous driving V2X communication semiconductor company.
Etiphos announced on the 31st that it had raised a total of 17 billion won in Series B investment round.
With this, the cumulative investment amount has reached 29.5 billion won, and Etiphos plans to fully advance into becoming a global fabless semiconductor company.
This investment round was led by LB Investment, with participation from leading domestic investment firms including L&S Venture Capital, Kyobo Securities, KR Ventures, Medici Investment-IBK Capital, BNK Venture Investment, Evergreen Investment Partners, Stick Ventures, and SL Investment.
Etiforce is gaining high trust from the industry based on its world-first commercialized 5G-V2X software-defined modem (SDM) technology and software-upgradable RSU (Road Side Unit) technology that can flexibly respond to the evolution of communication standards without replacing existing hardware.
The technology is being evaluated as having broad applicability to next-generation mobility infrastructure such as autonomous driving, drones, and C-ITS.
This investment is for △Samsung Foundry-based C-V2X HIt is expected to be used for strategic business expansion, such as mass production of W accelerator semiconductors, development of 3rd generation V2X-AIR devices (for aftermarket and micromobility), securing global production bases in the US and Europe and strengthening marketing, and entering new markets such as NTN (non-terrestrial network satellite communications) and military tactical communications.
In particular, Etiforce is working with global automobile manufacturers to verify V2X-based autonomous cooperative driving and drone application technologies (PoC), and is rapidly expanding its global business base by supplying communication equipment to C-ITS construction projects in Korea, the United States, and Europe.
Etiforce previously secured 8.5 billion won in Series A funding from Industrial Bank of Korea, LB Investment, and others. With the success of this Series B investment, Etiforce is further solidifying its vision of becoming a key mobility communications company in the era of software-defined networks.
