Launch of the DLP991UUV, a replacement for expensive photomasks with resolutions exceeding 8.9MP.
Texas Instruments (TI) has strengthened its high-precision digital lithography technology for advanced packaging.
TI announced on the 2nd that it has launched the DLP991UUV, a new digital micromirror device (DMD) for next-generation digital lithography technology.
TI says the product offers the highest resolution and precision in TI's direct imaging portfolio.
The DLP991UUV supports resolutions of over 8.9 megapixels, submicron precision, and data processing speeds of up to 110 gigapixels per second.
This presents new possibilities for advanced packaging equipment manufacturers by enabling them to replace expensive photomasks while simultaneously achieving scalability, cost-effectiveness, and precision.
Maskless digital lithography is a technology essential for implementing compact, high-efficiency systems for high-performance computing, as it engraves circuit patterns by directly projecting light without a photomask.
TI's DLP technology aligns with this trend, enabling equipment manufacturers to achieve large-scale, high-resolution printing, enabling real-time design adjustments, high throughput, and improved yields.
The DLP991UUV operates with a programmable photomask and can drive up to 22.5 W/cm2 at a wavelength of 405 nm and down to a shorter wavelength of 343 nm. In particular, it boasts the smallest pixel size among TI's portfolio by implementing a mirror pitch of 5.4㎛.
“Building on our experience leading the digital transformation of the film industry, TI is at the forefront of this industry transformation,” said Jeff Marsh, vice president of TI’s DLP Technology business unit. “With our maskless lithography system, we are empowering engineers around the world to push the boundaries of advanced packaging.”
TI's DLP technology utilizes millions of microscopic mirrors to deliver high-resolution displays and precise light control solutions for a wide range of applications, including industrial manufacturing, machine vision, automotive lighting, and home theater.
Pre-production quantities of the DLP991UUV are available for purchase on TI.com, with various payment and shipping options available. For more information, visit TI's official website.
