Desktop AI development performance significantly enhanced with 72GB GDDR7
NVIDIA has launched the RTX PRO 5000 72GB GPU based on the Blackwell architecture, ushering in an era of ultra-high-capacity memory and high-performance AI computing that enables the development of large-scale generative AI and agentic AI even in desktop environments.
NVIDIA announced on the 19th that it has officially launched the RTX PRO 5000 72GB GPU based on the next-generation Blackwell architecture, providing memory expansion options that enable the development of agentic AI and large-scale generative AI models in desktop environments.
This new product has 50% more memory than the existing 48GB model, and is evaluated as the optimal workstation GPU for developing LLM, multimodal AI, and RAG pipelines in a local environment.
NVIDIA explained, “The AI computing options available to developers, engineers, and designers on the desktop have been significantly expanded,” adding that “we are now able to provide the powerful AI processing performance of the Blackwell architecture to more professionals.”
The RTX PRO 5000 72GB is designed to handle complex AI models, simulations, and neural rendering tasks simultaneously, based on 2,142 TOPS of AI performance, multi-workload scheduling, and high-speed GDDR7 memory. It is particularly optimized for agentic AI systems that need to maintain multiple models and data sources simultaneously within GPU memory.
NVIDIA announced that the RTX PRO 5000 72GB delivers 3.5x improvement in image generation performance and 2x improvement in text generation performance compared to the previous generation. This increases productivity by significantly reducing iteration time in generative AI-based workflows.
In addition, it provides rendering speeds up to 4.7 times faster in major rendering engines such as Arnold, Chaos, V-Ray, Blender, and Redshift, significantly increasing the work efficiency of creative professionals.
In the engineering field as well, it provides more than double the graphics performance in computer-aided design (CAD) and product design workloads.
InfinitForm, a member of the NVIDIA Inception program, is enhancing the performance of its generative AI-based design optimization software using the RTX PRO 5000 72GB.

Versatile Media, a company specializing in virtual production, also adopted the RTX PRO 5000 to process large-scale 3D scenes and complex lighting in real time. Eddie Shen, a manager at Versatile Media, emphasized, “72GB of memory is a key element in ensuring creative freedom in cinematic virtual production.”
The RTX PRO 5000 72GB Blackwell GPU is available immediately through global partners including Ingram Micro, Leadtek, Unisplendour, and xFusion. Expanded supply is expected to be available through more system builders early next year.
