Accelerating penetration of the automotive and AI application markets
Mouser Electronics, a global authorized distributor of electronic components, is accelerating its efforts to capture the automotive and AI application markets by supplying Infineon Technologies' next-generation automotive and AI microcontrollers (MCUs).
Mouser announced on the 19th that it will supply Infineon's 'AURIX™ TC4x' in Korea.
This product is a high-performance solution targeting electric vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), next-generation automotive electrical and electronic (E/E) architectures, and cost-effective artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
The AURIX TC4x is an MCU based on a 32-bit TriCore™ architecture that significantly enhances performance and scalability while maintaining backward compatibility with the existing AURIX TC3x series. It features the ability to simultaneously process real-time control and AI computations by utilizing the next-generation TriCore v1.8 architecture and Infineon’s AURIX accelerator suite.
In particular, through multiple smart accelerators and a Parallel Processing Unit (PPU) supporting up to ASIL-D grade, AI-based data processing is possible while meeting automotive safety standards. It is optimized for autonomous and electrified vehicle environments by supporting an SPU for radar signal processing and advanced ADAS and DRE functions.
Communication performance has also been significantly improved. The AURIX TC4x MCU supports high-speed interfaces such as 5 Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, CAN-XL, and 10BASE-T1S Ethernet, providing the high throughput and flexibility required for next-generation automotive E/E architectures. Powerful real-time control performance is achieved by configuring up to six 500 MHz tri-core cores in a lockstep manner.
In addition, it is equipped with 24MB of on-chip non-volatile memory (NVM), eGTM timers, high-resolution PWM, and low-latency interconnects, making it suitable for AI and audio-based automotive applications. By applying hardware-based cybersecurity features such as CSRM/CSS, it meets the ISO 21434 standard and addresses vehicle security requirements.
In addition, it supports 8:1 PCM mixing, audio-only PLL, TSN synchronization, and I2S/TDM interfaces, enabling the implementation of next-generation infotainment functions such as AVAS, vehicle interior noise cancellation, audio zones, and telematics.
