NVIDIA GPU-equipped industrial PC launched
Siemens Digital Industries has launched a new industrial PC with NVIDIA GPUs, delivering a 25x increase in AI acceleration speed on high-performance industrial PCs.
Siemens Digital Industries announced on the 22nd that it is launching a new line of industrial PCs (IPCs) equipped with NVIDIA GPUs.
This will help accelerate AI applications alongside the expanded AI solutions in Siemens’ Industrial Operations X portfolio, and marks a new milestone in the strategic partnership between Siemens and NVIDIA that began in June 2022.
This launch enables Siemens to offer a scalable computing portfolio for high-performance industrial applications.
The portfolio ranges from rugged industrial PCs to industrial edge computing, and fully integrates NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform to seamlessly perform complex AI tasks in advanced industrial automation, including AI-driven robotics, quality inspection, predictive maintenance, and operations optimization.
This new offering is expected to accelerate AI execution on the job site by up to 25x through Siemens’ integrated hardware and software with NVIDIA’s AI and accelerated computing, enabling customers to reduce costs and speed time to market.
In industrial automation As AI and machine vision solutions become more widely used, Siemens and NVIDIA are making it easier for automation engineers to use AI capabilities without extensive coding knowledge.
The Industrial Operations X portfolio includes a variety of ready-to-use AI applications, as well as code-free tools to integrate, manage, and run industrial AI solutions. For example, NVIDIA’s accelerated Sematic Robot Pick AI enables OT users without AI expertise to easily deploy AI-based picking robot solutions that meet warehouse automation requirements.
Siemens Industrial Copilot for Operations, powered by NVIDIA NIM microservices, helps automation and maintenance engineers access real-time operational and documentation data to make faster decisions and reduce machine downtime.
The Siemens IPC family of products are NVIDIA certified systems that enable rapid deployment of a wide range of applications. These IPCs are designed to meet the rigorous requirements of industrial environments and withstand harsh conditions.
The new devices include the Simatic BX-35A, which is based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX system-on-module (SoM) for high-performance AI computing. Other devices include the high-performance workstation Symatic IPC RW-545A, the high-performance server Symatic IPC RS-828A for production data centers, and the high-performance modular box PC Symatic IPC BX-59A.
“Customers driving digital transformation require high-performance industrial systems, and this new offering significantly improves the performance of next-generation AI-based applications,” said Rainer Brehm, CEO of Factory Automation at Siemens Digital Industries.
“Siemens’ portfolio of industrial automation solutions, enhanced by NVIDIA accelerated computing and AI technologies, will help manufacturers around the world transform their digital journey and achieve incredible efficiency and agility,” said Lev Lebaredian, vice president of Omniverse and Simulation Technologies at NVIDIA.
