Innovative collaboration to support the most data-driven Olympics ever
Snowflake, a global AI data cloud company, will provide a large-scale data management and sharing platform at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to help analyze athlete performance, enhance fan experience, and improve the efficiency of Olympic operations.
Snowflake has signed an official data partnership with the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee (LA28) and Team USA.
This collaboration will focus on realizing the most data-driven Games in Olympic history, built on a large-scale data sharing and collaboration platform.
Through this partnership, Snowflake will assist LA28 and the U.S. national team in a variety of areas, from analyzing player training data to enabling fan engagement, to supporting tournament planning and operations.
Leveraging Snowflake’s AI data cloud technology, Team USA can centrally manage and share player training data, health records, and nutrition data in a way that’s optimized for real-world use.
It will also contribute to improving fan experience by connecting and analyzing fan-related data based on an expandable software architecture to enable personalized communication. This allows fans to experience a more immersive game viewing environment not only at the stadium but also at home.
“LA28 is a unique opportunity to leverage data to drive real innovation, and Snowflake is a partner with unparalleled capabilities in handling large-scale data,” said Denise Persson, Chief Marketing Officer at Snowflake. “LA28 will be the most technologically advanced Games in Olympic history, and Snowflake will enable possibilities that were previously unimaginable.”
“Working with Snowflake is essential to meeting the growing demand for technology and advancing data collaboration,” said John Slusher, CEO of US Olympic and Paralympic Properties. “This partnership will allow us to expand our Olympic technology capabilities and contribute to the goals of LA28 and Team USA.”
