Splunk will combine its vast machine data analytics capabilities with AI-based security and observability technologies to support the stable operation of core enterprise services even in increasingly complex IT and AI environments.

Splunk held a media Q&A session in conjunction with the 'Splunk Go 2026 Seoul' event held in Seoul on the 18th.

During a media Q&A, Cory Minton, Splunk's Global CTO, emphasized, "As an operational analytics platform, Splunk is focused on answering whether customers' mission-critical applications are operating safely and normally." He added, "In an era where data strategy is AI strategy, Splunk's data platform can collect and analyze petabyte-scale data across the cloud, data centers, endpoints, and AI systems."

Splunk, through a 'schema on read' data structure It stores various machine and telemetry data in a single index and leads the global market in both security and observability.

CTO Minton explained, “Security and service availability ultimately stem from the same question,” adding, “Splunk is the only platform rated as a Magic Quadrant Leader in both of these areas.”

The main topic of the meeting that day was 'Agentic AI'.

CTO Minton explained the difference between Generative AI and Agentic AI, stating, “If Generative AI is a tool that responds to questions, Agentic AI is a structure where multiple models and systems are connected to coordinate their actions autonomously and produce meaningful results.”

Splunk is expanding its technology beyond AI assistants that convert natural language questions into search queries, moving toward orchestrating security incident response and operational decision-making using multiple AI agents.

In terms of security, it also presented response strategies tailored to the AI era.

Splunk stated that it monitors new threats that may arise in agent-based systems through its AI security research organization and provides real-time guidelines using dedicated frameworks and detection technologies.

CTO Minton stated, “Even if AI and agents have autonomy, we aim for a structure where humans understand and control the context and governance.”

Cost efficiency was also addressed as a major issue.

Choi Won-sik, Country Manager of Splunk Korea, stated, “In a situation where data is growing exponentially, there are limitations to storing and analyzing all data in the same way,” adding, “Through a machine data lake, data that is not frequently accessed can be stored in low-cost storage, and when needed "We can significantly reduce the cost burden with a structure that analyzes only when necessary," he explained.

It was mentioned that through the partnership with Cisco, an integrated analytics environment encompassing network and security data is also being strengthened.

Examples of collaboration with LG Electronics were also introduced.

“LG Electronics has been continuously conducting data indexing and analysis with Splunk, and recently, we have been integrating Splunk’s agentic AI-based dashboards into our proprietary physical AI platform, EVA,” said Yoon Sung-bin, a senior manager at LG Electronics. “Through this, we can go beyond simple analysis and provide insights and actions in the form that customers desire.”

Splunk plans to continue expanding into the areas of agentic AI, physical AI, and industrial protocols, and strengthen its role as the 'compass of the AI era' centered on security and observability.

CTO Minton emphasized, “As AI becomes more complex, reliability and resilience become critical,” adding, “Splunk is evolving into an integrated data, AI, and security platform that makes this possible.”
