The first MongoDB standalone user conference held in Korea On the 6th, MongoDB held the 'MongoDB.local Seoul 2019' technology conference at the L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, where various topics such as app development know-how and user experience using the MongoDB platform were discussed.

MongoDB's first official conference in Korea was attended by Shin Jae-seong, CEO of MongoDB Korea; Alan Chhabra, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Partners and APAC Sales at MongoDB; and Richard Krueter, Senior Vice President of Field Engineering at MongoDB.
This event, designed to educate and encourage corporate developer participation, shared information on app development and performance management using the MongoDB platform, the database development team's development know-how, and domestic usage experiences of users who have actually adopted MongoDB.
Alan Chhabra, MongoDB's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Partners and Asia Pacific Sales, delivered a keynote address titled "MongoDB: The Best Database for Using and Storing Data." Next, Richard Krueter, Senior Vice President of Field Engineering at MongoDB, gave a session introducing new products and features of MongoDB.
At the event, Hwang Seong-hyeon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Rainist, explained why Banksalad initially chose MongoDB and how this decision influenced Banksalad's growth.
Lee Min-gyu, Line DBA Team Leader, shared his know-how on managing MongoDB on Line and examples of utilizing the MongoDB Support Portal.
Naver software developer Park Geun-bae presented a user experience utilizing MongoDB in Naver Search.
Other topics discussed included how to deploy and operate databases on major cloud platforms using MongoDB Atlas and how to improve business performance with the latest version of MongoDB.
With the advancement of technologies such as AI and smart factories, data volumes are expected to explode. MongoDB plans to expand its technical support to help Korean companies continue their digital transformation and data-driven, innovative growth.

In his welcoming speech, Shin Jae-seong, CEO of MongoDB Korea, said, “MongoDB provides a general-purpose database that makes it easier to use data,” and “Domestic developers “We are empowering people to build innovative applications faster and derive data-driven insights anytime, anywhere, across laptops, on-premises, and public and private clouds,” he said.
Meanwhile, MongoDB established a Korean branch in July of last year.
