AI-based OSS/BSS portfolio disclosure
Ericsson, a global telecommunications equipment company, is accelerating the transition of mobile communication service providers (CSPs) to AI and autonomous networks.
Ericsson unveiled its evolved OSS/BSS (Operational and Business Support Systems) portfolio on the 30th.
This update aims to apply AI technology to five key areas: data, cloud, monetization, orchestration, and commerce, to help CSPs achieve operational innovation, increase profitability, and improve customer experience.
OSS/BSS is a core system that supports network operations and commercial activities, and Ericsson's reorganization this time was designed based on its experience in collaboration with more than 300 CSPs around the world.
In particular, as a portfolio responding to the AI/DevOps era, it is expected to provide real-time services and improve efficiency through automation.
First, in the data area, data collection, processing, and governance are integrated and managed through the 'Telco DataOps Platform', and data fragmentation is resolved and the effect of AI application is maximized.
In the cloud and IT sector, the ‘Ericsson Intelligent IT Suite’ enhances business agility and minimizes operational complexity.
In the monetization area, the ‘Ericsson Charging & Billing Evolved’ platform enables real-time charging and acceptance of various business models.and promotes partner-based revenue generation.
Service orchestration automates service setup and operation in autonomous network environments through ‘agentic AI’.
Finally, in the commerce space, AI is applied to the entire Quote-to-Cash process to help quickly develop and deliver customized offerings to customers.
Ericsson is supporting CSPs' technological transformation and new business creation by leveraging AI technology and its own data capabilities, and is applying it in earnest in the global market through real-life cases such as Orange in France and Grameenphone in Bangladesh.
“This portfolio is a milestone for the future of the OSS/BSS industry,” said Mats Karlsson, Head of OSS/BSS at Ericsson. “It will enable CSPs to create new revenue opportunities while maintaining existing revenue streams and to deliver advanced, customer-centric services.”
