Anritsu Leads 5G Performance Innovations…Launches Latest RF Test Solution for MT8000A

25% increase in data processing, ensuring communication stability

Anritsu, a communications test equipment company, is driving innovation in 5G performance with the introduction of new test solutions for high-speed, high-performance radio frequency (RF) evaluation of 5G devices.

Anritsu recently released its latest RF test solution for the MT8000A.

The newly released software option is based on Anritsu’s Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A platform and supports downlink 1024QAM modulation and uplink Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx, key technologies of 3GPP Release 17.

1024QAM provides approximately 25% higher data throughput at the same bandwidth compared to the existing 256QAM, making it suitable for next-generation entertainment environments such as high-definition video streaming and cloud gaming.

In particular, adoption is expected to focus on the FR1 frequency band, and it is expected to contribute to improving the communication quality of telecommuting and cloud services in the business sector.

Uplink's Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx technology dynamically switches antennas according to changes in the communication environment, improving connection stability and speed. This is evaluated as a factor that dramatically improves users' network experience.

Looking at the newly developed software options by Anritsu, NR DL 1024QAM (MX800010A-022) is a downlink high-performance 1024QAM modulation RF test. NR UL Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx (MX800010A-019) supports RF tests of the uplink antenna switching function.

Both options are designed to enable more precise evaluation of the device's transmit and receive performance, and enable flexible response to real-time communication environments.

Since the commercialization of 5G, demand for high-bandwidth content such as AR, VR, 8K video, and real-time streaming has skyrocketed, and establishing fast and stable wireless communications has emerged as a key task.

To address this, the international standards organization 3GPP introduced high-order modulation and Tx Switching technologies through Release 17, and Anritsu's test solution is expected to be positioned as essential equipment supporting the implementation of these technologies.

An Anritsu official said, “Test tools that can precisely measure the TRx performance of devices in an advanced 5G environment are essential,” and added, “This solution will contribute to building the next-generation communications infrastructure.”
